Game Summary
The Torrey Pines Falcons advanced to the title game of the 28 team 2012 Falcon Fiesta Softball Tournament with an exciting 4-1 victory in 8 innings over the Mira Mesa Mauraders. The Falcons scored first in the 3rd inning on a perfectly executed suicide squeeze bunt by Kaitlin Schreiber. Mira Mesa countered with a 5th inning home run by Tatiana Leasau to tie the game. The Falcons scored 3 runs in the 8th inning on a 2nd suicide squeeze bunt by Kaitlin Schreiber and back to back Doubles by Julia Yacker and Taylor Lee. Junior Rachel Nasland (Notre Dame) was magnificent throwing a complete game 8 inning 2 hitter with 11 strike outs for the Falcons who improved to 19-1 with the win. Nasland improved to 9-1 on the season. Mira Mesa dropped to 14-4-1 with the loss. Laren Filicia wen 2-4 with a run scored and a stolen base and Julia Yacker went 3-4 with a run scored, a double and an RBI for Torrey Pines.
