The Briar Jumpers (31-17, 6-2) are red-hot, having won eight straight games, the longest such streak in the league. The streak was extended by another two games over the past week, including a 7-2 victory over Pulaski County.
Casey County's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and five walks to lead the league in both categories. The Rebels have given up a mere 296 hits on the year, while striking out 133 opposing hitters.
Tyler Hayes is the leader in that category with 56 Ks on the season.
