Who's up and who's down
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Warren Central (2nd in the power rankings) and Carmel (5th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Warren Central. We'll see if it can add another positive mark to its record or if Carmel can shake its defeat and take the spring out of Warren Central's step.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Ben Davis (1st in the power rankings) and Carmel (5th). Ben Davis scooted by Carmel with a score of 28 - 10. Senior Reese Taylor was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns).
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Cathedral (11th in IN) took on Ryle (14th in KY) last week. Cathedral didn't have too many spare points in its contest with Ryle, but still walked away with a 23 - 17 win. Nevertheless, Cathedral did not have enough punch to impress the national rankings algorithm and slipped 82 spots in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between New Palestine and Shelbyville last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 87 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. New Palestine put the hurt on Shelbyville with a conclusive 66 - 21 victory. The win boosted New Palestine a satisfying 347 spots in the national rankings.
