Game recap: Island Coast loses to University

Island Coast (Cape Coral, Fla.) lost to University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 44-27.

The Gators pulled ahead on a touchdown run by Scarlett, and subsequently went into halftime leading 26-14. The Suns scored the winning points on a touchdown run by Scarlett that came in the second quarter.

Scarlett stood out for University in the win. The sophomore running back ran for three touchdowns.

Island Coast's Kurt Benkert was the standout player for his team during the game. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.



UHS defeated Trotwood-Madison last week, 33-14.

University (2-0) will play a 3A District 8 game against Archbishop Carroll next week, while Island Coast (1-1) will take on Estero in a non-conference game.
