Who's up and who's down
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Warren Central (2nd in the power rankings) and Carmel (5th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Warren Central. We'll see if it can add another positive mark to its record or if Carmel can shake its defeat and take the spring out of Warren Central's step.
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Roncalli (4th in the power rankings) took on Fishers (24th) last week. Roncalli was able to grind out a solid victory over Fishers, winning 28 - 17. The Fishers defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 27.6 points per game), and Roncalli took advantage of that.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Ben Davis (1st in the power rankings) and Carmel (5th). Ben Davis scooted by Carmel with a score of 28 - 10. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Reese Taylor, who brought his A game into the contest. He threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns.
Columbus East has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Madison was a 49 - 3 blowout in Columbus East's favor. Columbus East was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. Thanks to its success, Columbus East cracked into the power rankings and occupies the 23rd spot.
