League recap: Mt. Whitney's Garcia delivers best pitching performance from past week

West Yosemite league recap: 5/14/12

West Yosemite's top pitcher this week was Brenden Garcia. He won one game and struck out 12 batters.

Ryan Presas was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .500 average, two home runs and seven RBIs. His Lemoore team went 2-0.

Mt. Whitney continues to give up the least hits to opposing lineups this season, after surrendering only nine in the past week. For the entire year, Mt. Whitney has given up only 192 base hits.

Chris Sanders led the league with six hits this week for the Tigers. His 36 hits for the year are fourth in the league, and he boasts a .371 batting average.

Justin Farrar threw a shutout as he led Lemoore to victory over Hanford, 18-5, on Thursday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out nine, while giving up one hits.

Jordan Morrison had four hits in six at bats in Mt. Whitney's 9-0 victory over Redwood on Thursday.
