Former NBA player coached one year of high school and posted a fine 29-4 record.

Jason Hart showed he could coach high school basketball and now he's getting a chance to prove himself at the college level.

The Los Angeles Times reported this week that Hart has been hired as an assistant at Pepperdine University.

In just one year at Taft (Woodland Hills, Calif.) he compiled an outstanding 29-4 record and guided the Toreadors to the Los Angeles City Section Division I championship.

Hart was a standout at Syracuse University and played in the NBA for 10 years.
