Seven female players from Texas were selected to the 2018 McDonald's All-American Game, announced a short time ago.

Among the seven were 2016-17 MaxPreps third-team All-American Charli Collier of Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas), who will be attending the University of Texas next season. Six of the 24 players selected will be attending college in Texas, including four joining coach Kim Mulkey at Baylor.

Only two of the 24 players are playing high school basketball west of Texas.

For the first time in memory, this is the first time all 24 players have already signed or committed to their college programs. Also for the first time, two sets of high school teammates — at No. 7 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and No. 8 Riverdale Baptist (Upper Marlboro, Md.) — will be playing on opposite teams.

The 17th annual girls game is scheduled for March 28 at Phillips Arena in Atlanta.
