Almont league recap: 5/29/12

Almont's longest active winning streak belongs to Alhambra (23-3, 14-1), undefeated over its last 10 games. Two of those wins came in the past week, including a 6-4 win over Whittier.

Behind a 2-0 record over the past week, Alhambra made the biggest jump in the California state rankings, all the way from 182 to 135.

Montebello's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing eight hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories. The Oilers' pitchers have been charged with only 146 hits and have struck out 131 batters. Tonatio Monroy is tops on the staff with 52 Ks.
