Out of the snow and into the sun, the MaxPreps Tour of Champions makes it to Orange County

Southern California was extremely accomodating to the Tour and we aren't just referring to the 70 degree weather. Orange Lutheran High School welcomed us to their beautiful campus to honor the Lancers with a MaxPreps Tour of Champions ceremony.

The school was extremely gracious and honored by our choice to recognize their team. It all went down the evening of January 19 at the halftime of the boys varsity basketball game. As soon as the halftime buzzer sounded, the California Army National Guard (along with help from the Lutheran Cheerleaders) got the crowd going by throwing National Guard T-shirts into the stands. MaxPreps' Stan Granch and Major Noland Flores of the California Army National Guard recognized the Lancers for their athletic achievements, teamwork, and of course, being nationally celebrated by MaxPreps as one of the best teams in America.

When it was all said and done, the Lutheran team and fans may have been some of the best we have encountered on the Tour. You get a great sense of community and support, and it is no wonder why Lutheran is one of the premier teams in the country. Congratulations to the Orange Lutheran Lancers; nationally ranked No. 8 by MaxPreps!
