Catch these guys in action this fall in the Lone Star State.

Texas is always in the conversation when it comes to being the top state at producing talent. The Lone Star State is currently third among all states with players in the NFL and second on the all-time list only trailing California.

Over the past few years a lot of the state's best players were going elsewhere for college, but it looks like those days are over for now.

Seven of the top 13 players from Texas in the 247Sports composite rankings for the Class of 2018 are committed to the Texas Longhorns and three are Texas A&M pledges. Only one player among the top 13 is committed to a school outside of Texas and two other players haven't made their choice, including the top rated player in the state, Anthony Cook. He recently narrowed his list and it includes Texas, Ohio State and LSU.



Our Top 35 heading into the fall includes 23 players from the Class of 2018, 11 players from the Class of 2019 and one from the Class of 2020. Top Players From Texas

S - Jalen Catalon, 5-9, 180, Mansfield Legacy (Mansfield)
The 4-star defensive back was selected to the 2017 MaxPreps Preseason Junior All-American team after having a big time sophomore season recording 185 tackles, nine interceptions, seven tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.

DE - Jarell Cherry, 6-3, 225, Carter (Dallas)
The 2018 LSU commit is a Top 200 recruit overall and is the ninth-rated weak side defensive end among rising seniors.

DT - Keondre Coburn, 6-1, 330, Westfield (Houston)
Ed Oliver was the last defensive tackle rated this high from Houston Westfield. The recent Texas commit has a chance to be just as good down the road.

CB - Anthony Cook, 6-0, 170, Lamar (Houston)
You know you are big time when you are the top-rated player from Texas and that is the case for Lamar's 5-star defensive back. He checks in as the second-rated corner in the Class of 2018 and is No. 13 overall in the 247sports composite rankings.

ATH - Jaquayln Crawford, 5-9.5, 160, Rockdale
There might not be a more exciting player from Texas than the 4-star Oklahoma commit from Rockdale. Crawford is explosive on offense, defense and special teams. Anytime he gets his hands on the rock there is a good chance he takes it to the house.



WR - Brennan Eagles, 6-3.5, 215, Alief Taylor (Houston)
Just like seven other guys on the list, Eagles is a 2018 Texas pledge. He is one of the most physical wide receivers in the country and he checks in as a Top 30 recruit overall, No. 5 wideout and is the third-rated player from Texas.

WR - Erik Ezukanma, 6-2, 185, Timber Creek (Fort Worth)
The big-time wide receiver from Timber Creek is one of the most exciting players to watch in the state. He finished his junior season with nearly 2,000 total yards and 23 touchdowns.

WR - Joshua Fleeks, 5-11.5, 170, Cedar Hill
The 2018 Baylor commit is one of the shiftiest players in the country. Cedar Hill has produced some of the top players from the state and expect Fleeks to be next on that list.

S - B.J. Foster, 6-1, 190, Angleton
The top-rated safety in the Class of 2018 checks in as the No. 2 player overall from Texas. The 2018 Longhorn commit is one of 25 5-star prospects among rising seniors.

RB - Deondrick Glass, 5-11, 190, Katy
Katy has produced some talented running backs over the years and Glass might be the best of the bunch. As a sophomore he ran for nearly 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns averaging over 10 yards per carry.

CB - Gemon Green, 6-2, 165, DeSoto
The 4-star defensive back will be one of the leaders for DeSoto in 2017. The Eagles check in as the No. 7 team in our Xcellent 25 rankings presented by the Army National Guard. The 2018 Michigan commit is one of the top corners in all of Texas.



CB - Jalen Green, 6-0, 170, Houston Heights (Houston)
Another Texas commit. The 4-star defensive back checks in as the fifth-rated player in the state and is the No. 9 cornerback from the Class of 2018.

OT - Kenyon Green, 6-5, 315, Atascocita (Humble)
The 5-star offensive lineman checks in as a Top 20 recruit from the Class of 2019. He is the second-rated player from Texas and No. 2 offensive tackle among rising juniors. The 2019 LSU commit is one of the best players in all of Texas regardless of class.

QB - Grant Gunnell, 6-6, 210, St. Pius X (Houston)
The 2019 Texas A&M commit finished fifth in the country with 4,973 yards passing and was fourth among all quarterbacks with 65 touchdown passes in 2016. The 2019 Preseason Junior All-American checks in as the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in his class.

ATH - B.J. Hanspard, 6-0, 170, DeSoto
The 2018 Arkansas commit is one of the best all-around players in the country. His dad, Byron Hanspard, was also a star at DeSoto back in the 1990s and was the Doak Walker Award winner in 1996 for Texas Tech.

WR - Arjei Henderson, 6-1, 180, Fort Bend Travis (Richmond)
The 4-star wide receiver hauled in 100 catches for 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2016. The 2019 MaxPreps Junior Preseason All-American is one of the best players in the country.

RB - Keaontay Ingram, 6-1, 185, Carthage
The Texas Longhorns have a big-time running back headed its way in 2018. Ingram rushed for 2,000-plus yards and 31 touchdowns as a junior and also had 43 receptions for nearly 500 yards. The 4-star running back played a big role in leading Carthage to the 4A-I UIL state championship. QB - Roschon Johnson, 6-0.5, 190, Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, Texas)
Johnson is one of the best quarterbacks from the Class of 2019. The recent Texas Longhorn commit threw for nearly 2,500 yards and rushed for 1,600-plus yards to go with 56 total touchdowns as a sophomore.



RB - Jase McClellan, 5-9.5, 195, Aledo
The 2020 Oklahoma commit is one of the best overall players in high school football regardless of class. He was the 2016 MaxPreps Freshman of the Year and he played a big role in leading Aledo to the 5A-II UIL state championship in 2016.

ATH - Joshua Moore, 6-1, 170, Yoakum
Moore is one of the most versatile players in all of Texas. He makes plays on offense, defense and special teams. The 2018 Nebraska commit checks in as the No. 10 player in the state and is a Top 75 recruit overall on 247Sports composite rankings.

S - Leon O'Neal Jr., 6-1, 190, Cypress Springs (Cypress)
The 2019 Texas A&M commit is one of the toughest and most competitive players in all of high school football. He is one of the most well-rounded defensive backs in the country and checks in as the No. 6 safety from the Class of 2018.

LB - NaNa Osafo-Mensah, 6-4, 215, Nolan Catholic (Fort Worth)
The 4-star linebacker checks in as a Top 50 player overall from the Class of 2019 and is the No. 5 player in Texas. He is one of the hardest hitting linebackers in the country.

S - DeMarvion Overshown, 6-4, 200, Arp
There isn't a harder hitting safety in the state than Arp's 4-star defensive back. Overshown is one of the most complete defensive players in the country. He can line up all over the field and like a lot of other guys on this list he is a Texas Longhorn commit.

WR - Jalen Preston, 6-2, 210, Manvel
The future Texas A&M Aggie is one of the top athletes in high school football. He was featured in our Top 10 Basketball Plays of the Year with one of the best windmill dunks of the season and was a regular on Plays of the Week during the football season in 2016. He checks in as the No. 65 recruit overall in the Class of 2018 and is the No. 6 recruit from Texas.



QB - Spencer Sanders, 6-2, 190, Ryan (Denton)
Denton Ryan is one of the top teams from Texas heading into the 2017 season and Sanders is a major reason for the expectations. The 2018 Oklahoma State commit threw for over 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2016 and also rushed for nearly 1,100 yards and 18 more scores.

OT - Darrell Simpson, 6-7, 335, Northwest (Justin)
The top-rated offensive lineman in the state is Northwest's 4-star tackle Simpson. He has landed more than 20 FBS offers and 247Sports has him pointed toward Oklahoma.

S - Caden Sterns, 6-1, 190, Steele (Cibolo)
The former LSU pledge flipped to Texas back in May and ever since that the Longhorns have been getting some of the best in-state players. Tom Herman has assembled the second-best crop of 2018 prospects, though there is long way to go before signing day. Sterns is one of the major reasons why as he checks in as the No. 30 player overall, No. 2 safety and No. 4 player from Texas in the Class of 2018.

QB - Grant Tisdale, 6-1, 205, Allen
Allen hasn't had a quarterback this talented since Kyler Murray was under center. All he did was lead them to three consecutive state titles from 2012-14. Tisdale checks in as the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2019 and he gets the keys to the starting quarterback position in 2017.

WR - Jaylen Waddle, 5.9-5, 175, Episcopal (Bellaire)
Waddle is one of the most explosive wide receivers in all of high school football. He had nearly 1,500 yards receiving in 2016 averaging better than 28 yards per reception. He is dangerous anytime he touches the rock. He had 26 receiving touchdowns, four rushing scores and five more touchdowns in the return game.

WR - Theo Wease, 6-3, 190, Allen
The Eagles haven't had this dangerous of a quarterback/wide receiver duo since Kyler Murray and Jalen Guyton. Wease and the aforementioned Tisdale are one of the most talented pass-catch combos in the country. The 5-star wide receiver checks in as No. 3 among wide receivers and is a Top 25 player overall from the Class of 2019.



WR - Jordan Whittington, 6-1, 200, Cuero
Whittington is a name to remember. He is one of the most exciting players to watch in all of high school football. The 4-star wide receiver from the Class of 2019 checks in as a Top 50 player overall, No. 8 receiver and No. 6 player in the state.

S - Brian Williams, 6-0, 185, Bishop Dunne (Dallas)
The 2017 MaxPreps Preseason Junior All-American checks in as the top-rated player from Texas and is the No. 1 safety from the Class of 2019. He is one of the most versatile players in the state and had eight interceptions as a sophomore in 2016.

WR - Garrett Wilson, 6-0, 180, Lake Travis (Austin)
No team from Texas lost more players to graduation than Lake Travis. Luckily, Wilson will be back in 2017. The 4-star wide receiver will be one of the best players in the state.

WR - Al'vonte Woodard, 6-1, 195, Lamar (Houston)
The 2018 Texas commit is one of the most skilled wide receivers in the country. Lamar is one of three teams to have at least two players selected on the list, joining DeSoto and Allen.

DT - Max Wright, 6-4, 270, Katy Taylor (Katy)
The 2018 Texas A&M commit checks in as the top-rated defensive lineman in the state and is the No. 4 strong side defensive end in the Class of 2018. During his junior season he had 75 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
