Daniels threw for 299 yards and five touchdowns while Uiagalelei completed 20-of-21 passes for 172 yards and two scores. That year Daniels led Mater Dei wire-to-wire as the No. 1 team in the country while never trailing at any point during the 2017 season. He was named the MaxPreps National Football Player of the Year.
