Aledo takes down defending national champion Melissa in Texas semifinals

In one of the biggest upsets of the Texas softball postseason, Aledo High School knocked off defending national champion Melissa High School 5-4 in the UIL Class 5A Division I semifinals. Aledo used timely hitting and a complete-game performance in the circle to snap Melissa’s 28-game winning streak and advance to the state championship game.
