1. Jenks (6-1): Followed up tournament title in Springfield, MO with a 62-41 victory over Bartlesville on Jan. 9. 6-foot-3 junior Tia McGee netted a game-high 25 points against Bartlesville, fresh off her Most Valuable Player performance at the KXTR Tournament. Magee averages a shade under 20 points a game for the Trojans.
2. Mustang (10-0): Defeated Putnam City North 77-41 on Jan. 9. Lacy Ramon scored 20 points to lead Mustang in the victory. Jordan Pyle added 12 points for the Broncos.
3. Owasso (8-1): The Lady Rams blitzed Stillwater 67-30 behind 22 points from Jasmine Webb. Webb is the leading scorer for Owasso, averaging around 16 points per contest.
4. Sequoyah-Tahlequah (10-0): Moved to 10-0 with a 61-7 victory over Wagoner. Angie Goodrich scored 21 points for Sequoyah, who held Wagoner scoreless in the second half.
5. Sapulpa (9-1): Alyssia Brewer and Tatum Beer both scored 11 points as Sapulpa passed a huge test by defeating Tulsa Union, 49-41. Beer, an AAU All-American over the summer, has already committed to Tulsa.
6. Norman (7-2): Lady Tigers have had a relatively quiet schedule since the holidays. On Jan. 5, Norman defeated Edmond Memorial 60-52.
7. Tulsa Union (7-2): Despite 15 points from Lindsay Palmer, Union fell to Sapulpa 49-41. The loss is the second straight for Union, who fell to third-ranked Owasso 37-35 on Jan. 6.
8. Tulsa Washington (6-0): Sophomore Christiana Shorter scored 18 points to lead Washington a comfortable 63-35 victory over Tulsa Rogers.
9. Bixby (8-1): Sprinted out to a 38-14 halftime lead over Catoosa before prevailing, 66-32. 6-2 junior Virginia DeWare and Meagan Selvidge both scored 12 points for the Spartans.
10. Beaver (12-0): Defeated Texhoma, 52-39 to move to a perfect 12-0 on the season. Beaver feature a roster filled with juniors and sophomores in Class A. Sidney Rife averaged 13.5 points per game last season for the Lady Dusters.
Under 5-foot tall, Yukon Freshman Big on Talent
She might be just 4-foot-11, but Yukon freshman Meagan Henson is off to an outstanding start to her prep basketball career.
On Jan. 5, Henson scored 22 points and dished out six assists to lead the Millers to a 53-38 victory over Putnam City North. On the season, Henson averages 20.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 steals for Yukon.
Before her freshman season at Yukon, Texas Christian University offered Henson a scholarship before she even laced up her sneakers for a high school game. She accepted and is planning to attend TCU for the 2010-11 season.
Another Clarke Filling it up for Verdigris
Cassie Clarke, a 5-10 sophomore, averages 19.6 points per game for unbeaten Verdigris. You may recognize the name Clarke and Verdigris being synonymous with each other. That is because Cassie is the younger sister of Rotnei, who averages over 34 points per game as a junior for the Verdigris boys' team.
In a 62-44 victory over Sequoyah-Claremore, Clarke drilled five three-point shots and scored a game-high 24 points. In a 57-47 victory earlier in the season over Siloam Springs, Clarke hit 15-f-17 free throws and scored 32 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
