In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Have a Day
Flint Hill got a 38 - 7 win over Maret last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jordan Houston. Houston earned two touchdowns and 207 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Houston one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Top Game
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Stone Bridge (3rd in the power rankings) and Broad Run (16th). Stone Bridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Broad Run, winning 21 - 13. Even if it didn't bump Stone Bridge up the rankings, the triumph at least kept team from dropping.
Points Galore
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Freedom last week (their 10th in a row). It took its contest against Charles J. Colgan by a conclusive 64 - 34 score. Freedom was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. The combined 98 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Flint Hill (18th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Benedictine (62nd). This will be the second home game in a row for Flint Hill. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both it and Benedictine put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
