LOMPOC, Calif. -
Lompoc (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat St. Francis (La Canada, Calif.), 42-7, on Saturday.
The Braves were up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by
Taylor Cornejo in the first quarter.
Lompoc expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored once in the quarter on a
Nikko Hayes touchdown run.
With the win the Braves extended their winning streak to 11 games. Lompoc defeated the Conquistadores 66-0 last week.
John Carroll played well for the Golden Knights. The sophomore tight end caught one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Lavon Coleman played well for LHS in the victory. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. A member of the Top 25 Big Backs, Coleman has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
St. Francis' lone touchdown came on a 5-yard pass from Jared Lebowitz to Carroll in the first quarter.
The Braves went into the matchup giving up only 6.8 points per game. The seven points that SF ended with were well below its average of 28.0 coming into the game.
The loss comes after St. Francis defeated St. Paul 34-14 last week.
