You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between McGregor and Rogers. McGregor took the match and then some with a 60-23 victory on Friday over Rogers. McGregor were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The matchup started off well for McGregor, whose offense put up 26 first-half points. Rogers came up with 10 to make it 26-10 heading into the break. The McGregor defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 7 and all but finishing the game. The win bumped their record up to 3-0. The defeat dropped Rogers' record to 2-1.
Next week McGregor take on Clifton at 7:30 PM. Clifton will need to watch out since McGregor have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Rogers, they will face off against Bosqueville. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
