On Friday Ellinwood take on Sterling at 7:00 PM. Ellinwood are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Last Friday, Ellinwood put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They blew past Lyons 34-3. Junior David Hammeke, who rushed for 137 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Ellinwood's success.
Meanwhile, if Sterling were riding high off their 55-21 takedown of Lyons two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Sterling were given a punishing 19-74 defeat at the hands of Cimarron. Sterling were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 13-52.
Ellinwood's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Sterling's loss dropped them down to 1-4. Sterling's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Ellinwood defensive front that amassed seven sacks against Lyons, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
