The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Bloomfield, who took down 273rd ranked West Bloomfield, 24-16. Jake Nelson threw for 36 yards and ran for 78 yards in the win.
Lake Orion extended the longest winning streak in Oakland - Red this week by beating Troy, 38-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Athens's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Max Blank helped Athens' passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Lucas Bezerra was the best wideout in the league this week as the Red Hawks topped the Lakers. Bezerra tallied two receptions for 20 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback James Ortmann of Athens is the league leader in passing yards this season with 205. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, Clarkston's Ian Eriksen has rushed for 487 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jared Yaroch. The Clarkston star has seven catches for 88 yards.
A big matchup in Oakland - Red this week will be when Lake Orion takes on Rochester. At the moment, Chris Bell's team is in first, while the Falcons are in third.
The Dragons were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Colts 38-0. Lake Orion came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
