For the better part, Taylor is the fastest sprinter in Texas, and third-fastest in the country under any conditions, according to
athletic.net.
Taylor ran the 100 meters in a wind-aided time of 10.38 seconds at the Texas Southern Relays last month. His best wind-legal time of 10.50 — fourth-best in the country — was set Saturday while winning at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
Because of other numbers, namely his size — 5 feet, 7 inches and 145 pounds — Taylor is only graded as a 2-star football recruit by 247Sports, the No. 298 recruit in Texas from the Class of 2016.
He'll attend the University of Miami on a track scholarship, which he's accepted. But he hasn't ruled out playing football for the Hurricanes.
Taylor was a wide receiver, running back and kick returner for Clear Brook. He showed good hands and wasn't afraid of contact. And clearly, judging from his video highlights, creates separation with the best of them.
