Forty of the top underclass baseball players in the state of California will take to the field this weekend when the Elite Baseball Series gets underway at UC Irvine's Anteater Ballpark.
The first game is today at 6 p.m. with two other games set for Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. each. A second series of game are set for July 29-31 at Jackie Robinson Field at UCLA.
The Elite Baseball Series has featured some of the top baseball players in California the past two summers, including 15 who were selected in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft and 10 from the 2010 draft.
The two squads, a Black and a Blue Team, consist of 20 players each. Following is a look at each team.
