Pickens were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They steamrollered Chamblee 49-6. Followers of Pickens probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
The contest started off well for Pickens, whose offense put up 42 first-half points. Meanwhile, Chamblee couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 42-0 heading into the break. The Pickens defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the game. The win bumped their record up to 4-0. Chamblee are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Next week Pickens take on Gilmer at 7:30 PM. Gilmer will need to watch out since Pickens have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. Chamblee will be staying on the road, facing off against Coffee. Chamblee come in off of four low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
