On Friday, Columbia put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were the clear victor by a 44-16 margin over DeSales. Columbia were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Columbia got off to a slow start in their match last week, but they had no such trouble against DeSales as they cruised to a 25-point first half. Meanwhile, DeSales couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 25-0 heading into the break. Columbia's offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Columbia take on Dayton/Waitsburg at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams have set a high bar for this matchup after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests. As for DeSales, they will face off against Tri-Cities Prep. Tri-Cities Prep are cruising in on a seven-game winning streak.
