Wes-Del made easy work of Anderson Prep Academy on Friday and carried off a 60-30 win. Wes-Del were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Wes-Del's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 44 points in the first half. Anderson Prep Academy wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 16 to make it 44-16 heading into the break. The Wes-Del defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup.
Wes-Del found Wes-Del's leader in underclassman sophomore Eric Harlan, who rushed for 129 yards and 3 touchdowns. Harlan has been a consistent playmaker for Wes-Del as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Senior Jake Sutton was in the mix, too, providing Wes-Del with two touchdowns. The victory was the 3rd in a row for them, as they raised their record to 3-6. Anderson Prep Academy are on a four-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 2-7.
Next week Wes-Del take on Clinton Prairie at 7:00 PM. Wes-Del will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. Anderson Prep Academy will stay at home against Union City at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
