I chose the title of this journal to be miraculous because that is exactly what this drive was. We woke up in the middle of the Colorado Rockies, Vail to be exact, and started on our way down the Interstate 70 towards Southern California. Driving between the beautiful mountains and over the Colorado River was just the beginning of the beautiful sights Mother Nature offered to us today. The rock formations and canyons of Utah, and the red steep cliffs of Arizona, made it tough to pay attention to road. In the end we did pay attention to the road long enough to get us to Las Vegas, where we took some videos and photos of the RV on the strip, and ate a wonderful dinner at the MGM Grand Buffet. It cost us a pretty penny to eat there, so we tried to make it worth our while by eating as much Alaskan king crab, shrimp, and sirloin steak as we possibly could, leaving room for dessert. Mike and I have come to the conclusion that we are going to blossom by the end of this trip, so if you see us in a city near you, and we don't look like the pictures you see on the website, then you can blame that on the food budget of the trip.
Azusa Pacific University is our parking lot of choice for tonight, and it sure feels good to be back in California. We left late Monday night and made it to Azusa by 2:00am of Thursday. Friday night is right around the corner, and the anticipation is killing me, especially after this long drive. Two great teams, from a great state, with something to prove, should equal one remarkable game. It has been sold out since the 8th of September, so even if the game does end up being a blowout, the atmosphere should still be electric. Stay tuned for Mike's journal tomorrow because these are the journals of our lives, I say this to please my Mother because she use to be a big Days of our Lives fan.
