Stony Point and Klein Collins have both accumulated a number of blowout victories this season (Stony Point has five and Klein Collins has seven), so it will be interesting to see how that plays out when they meet this Friday at 3:00 PM. Stony Point crushed Manor last week, winning 45 - 0. Meanwhile, Klein Collins put the hurt on Dekaney with a conclusive 49 - 9 victory.
In its game, Stony Point got an early lead and never looked back, outscoring Manor in every quarter en route to its victory. That 45-point margin marks the most Stony Point has won by all season. The win bumped its record up to 7-4.
As for Klein Collins, it was predicted to win a blowout based on MaxPreps national rankings, and the prediction was right. Two standouts for it were senior Josh Powell and junior Carter Rhyne; the former rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown while the latter tossed for two touchdowns and rushed for one more. Junior Isaiah Spiller was in the mix too, providing Klein Collins with two touchdowns. Spiller should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Klein Collins in the past nine games. Klein Collins remains undefeated at home and rose to 10-0.
With both Stony Point and Klein Collins swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll find out which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
