Cedar Hill (Texas) opened its season with a loss to Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and then needed a late rally to defeat Mansfield 42-41 last week. Meanwhile, a familiar team has creeped up to the No. 2 spot. Allen, which has been the top team in Texas three of the past four seasons, moved up 11 spots after beating Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, La.).
The regional rankings are based on the
MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The Southwest region includes teams from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona.
