Spirit week at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ is a long-standing tradition that engages all grades 9-12 at the school. This year’s spirit week culminated with the Ironmen receiving the Max Preps Tour of Champions trophy presented by the Army National Guard.
The entire school of 900 students had just finished morning mass and were preparing to depart early for a well deserved extended weekend when Principal John Stanczak asked the students to stay for a special presentation. At that time Athletic Director Nunzio Campanile, welcomed MaxPreps and the New Jersey Army National Guard and introduced Steve Speiwak of MaxPreps to start the presentation. Steve discussed the rich history of football success at Don Bosco including the dramatic early season win against De La Salle from California.
Steve then turned the presentation over to Sergeant Pete Williams who discussed the dedication it takes to serve in the Army National Guard and compared that to what it takes to be a championship football team. Sgt. Williams presented Athletic Director Campanile with the Minuteman trophy to the delight of the packed gymnasium and local media.
School President Fr. Louis Molinelli then thanked everyone for attending and congratulated the entire student body on another amazing spirit week and rewarded the students with a day off from School in March. The day was truly a success and we look forward to hopefully coming back next year to award the Bosco boys once again, for a 5th straight year. Go Ironmen!
