6A Region 3 recap November 5, 2013
Auburn's LaQuavious Hunt rumbled for the longest rushing play in 6A Region 3 this season in his game against East Limestone last week. Hunt ran for 93 yards on the play and finished with 124 on the day as his team defeated the Indians.
Auburn added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating East Limestone, 56-28. The victory was the seventh in a row for Tim Carter's team.
Mike Mckenny threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 22-39 with 1 interception.
Hunt was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 124 yards on 4 carries as the Tigers beat Valley. Tyus Flakes also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Carver's Mckenny and Landy Capetillo led 6A Region 3 in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Mckenny has thrown for 1,711 yards this season, while Capetillo has 32 catches for 695 yards. The Panthers' Devante Marshall leads the league in rushing yards with 1,039.
Reggie Hall of the Opelika is just 93 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 180 carries Hall has accumulated 907 yard this year.
Jefferson Davis fell to Enterprise 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
