CAMERON PARK, Calif. --- MaxPreps will introduce its 2006 High School Football All-American Team next week, beginning with the announcement of the National Coach and Player of the Year Tuesday, December 26.
The All-American team will honor 80 of the top performers in the country based on a wide-ranging set of criteria, including - but not limited to - stats submitted to MaxPreps.com, local, regional, state, and national honors, and team success.
Following Monday's announcement of the National Coach and Player of the Year, MaxPreps will introduce the 2006 All-American Offense Wednesday, Dec. 27, and the All-American Defense Thursday, Dec. 28.
Friday, MaxPreps will spotlight its 2006 National Champion, based on the MaxPreps National Rankings Presented by the National Guard. Southlake Carroll, Texas, finished at the top of the rankings in 2005, and has a chance to make it back-to-back titles with a win over Austin Westlake tomorrow at the state's 5A Division I championship game in San Antonio.
