Brandon Bergeron and Seth Kelly provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Barbe. The connection was good for 92 yards, the longest such play in 4A District 5 this season.
Teurlings Catholic extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Crowley, 38-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Rebels.
St. Thomas More's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bergeron threw for 366 and two touchdowns and Kelly had 247 yards receiving. On the ground Grant Dozier chipped in 101 yards. Jake Juneau helped St. Thomas More's passing attack out by catching five balls for 58 yards.
St. Thomas More's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bergeron has thrown for 1524 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Kelly has 31 catches for 648 yards. Dozier leads the league in rushing with 379 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 5 this week will be when St. Martinville takes on Breaux Bridge. As it stands, the Tigers are in second, while the Tigers are in third.
Teurlings Catholic took down the Ladies and Gentlemen 38-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
