Marysville (Ohio) took the lead for good when they threw a touchdown with under a minute left in the third quarter and held on to upset
Dublin Scioto (Dublin, Ohio) 30-28 on Saturday.
The Irish pulled ahead on a touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 22-16. The Monarchs took the lead to win the game on a passing touchdown in the third quarter.
The final outcome was shocking, as Marysville was ranked No. 147 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Ohio, far below Dublin Scioto's spot at No. 34.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 33-10 win for MHS.
The loss comes after Dublin Scioto defeated Dublin Coffman 30-17 last week. The loss broke Dublin Scioto's two-game winning streak. The win brought Marysville's winning streak to three games.
