2010 notes: Make it two straight playoff trips for El Dorado, which had never tasted the postseason before 2008. Improvement could be measured in two ways: winning a playoff game and/or winning a district title. Coach Althoff said his team is capable of both. It helps to have perhaps the area's top player, WR McFarland (56-982, 14 TDs), an early pledge to UT. Meanwhile, both RB Guillen (87-500, 3 TDs) - a "dynamic performer," Althoff said - and QB Huerta (400 yards, 5 TDs in 5 starts) take on full-time roles. The defense returns a prototypical pass-rusher in DE Barrios (65 tackles, 4 sacks), as well as two ball-hawking DBs in Hernandez (49 tackles, 5 INTs) and Thomas (60 tackles, 2 INTs).
