Twin Loup had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 40-26 victory over St. Mary's. The success made it back-to-back wins for Twin Loup.
Twin Loup started the game off right with 25 first-half points. St. Mary's countered with 20 points, leaving the score at 25-20 going into the half. The other side of the ball was dominant for Twin Loup in the second half, holding St. Mary's to a measly 6 points.
No one put up better numbers for Twin Loup than junior Colby Coons, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 14 tackles Coons was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Hunter Techmeier, who racked up ten tackles.
Twin Loup's win brought them up to 3-5. St. Mary's are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. Both of these squads appear to be finished for the season, as they have no upcoming games scheduled.
