Offense reigned supreme at the Senior All-Star Game at the ABCD Camp Sunday, as the Black team topped the Yellow team, 170-165.
The game featured many of the country's top high school seniors including O.J. Mayo, Bill Walker, and Kevin Love.
However, Corey Fisher, playing for the Yellow team, stole the show while playing in front of many family and friends. Fisher was deadly from beyond the arc all night long, and also demonstrated superior penetration and passing ability. He received the team MVP award, along with teammate Tracy Smith from North Carolina, and Bill Walker from North College Hill, Ohio.
Walker had numerous rim-rocking dunks in defeat. His former teammate from North College Hill, O.J. Mayo, seemed to have an off-night from the field, but showed flashes of brilliance throughout the night.
For the victorious Black team, Jonathan Flynn led the way, showing a wide arsenal of moves. His match up late in the game against Corey Fisher brought the crowd to its feet. Flynn, along with James Hickson - a Georgia power forward - won the MVP for the Black team.
Corey Chandler, Corey Stokes, and Kevin Love all made valuable contributions and showed why they are premier college prospects. Additionally, Kansas recruit Cole Aldrich delighted everyone in attendance with a thunderous put-back slam.
Mayo, Love, DeAndre Jordan, and Taylor King received awards for being the camp's top performers. After the game, Sonny Vaccaro, founder of the ABCD Camp, spoke highly of this year's senior class, calling it one of the best he had ever seen. On Sunday, the class of 2007 certainly did not disappoint.
