Warren Central High School. Indianapolis, Indiana. The top of the food chain. The best of the best.
Led by first year Head Coach Steve Tutsie, the Warriors won their fourth straight Class 5A state title - a feat unprecedented in Indiana history. Warren Central was one of two teams that the MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard has visited for two consecutive years...the Warriors were completely deserving of this honor.
Our ceremony was presented as part of the Warren Central football team banquet on Sunday, January 28th. MaxPreps' Chris Stonebreaker kicked off the presentation and remarked on the outstanding reputation of Warren Central football. Recognizing that this is truly one of the best teams in the country, the Warriors and Coach Tutsie were presented with the MaxPreps Tour of Champions national rankings trophy by SGT Major Scott Bassett of the Indiana Army National Guard.
The Tour of Champions visits only the best championship teams in America. In our travels, Warren Central has shown to be a remarkably tight program and a legit contender for best team in the nation. While the Warriors are looking for five-straight state championships, the MaxPreps Tour of Championships is looking for a three-peat in '08 - making Warren Central High School the first team to be honored for three consecutive years.
