Chino and West Covina meet up on Friday this week after opposite experiences in their previous matchups. Chino has to be hurting after the devastating 39 - 7 defeat at the hands of Los Altos last game. As for West Covina, it dominated last week, steamrollering Walnut 54 - 7.
Defeat last week was the first time this season it had fallen in back-to-back games. The loss came about despite a quality game from junior Andrew Almazan, who ran for 141 yards and punched in one touchdown. The defeat dropped Chino's record to 4-4.
Meanwhile, West Covina had things more or less wrapped up by halftime last week having put itself ahead 34 - 0. It ran circles around Walnut, picking up 649 total yards as opposed to Walnut's 224. The win got West Covina up to 5-3.
We'll see if West Covina can snag another victory or if Chino will turn things around for itself.
