Video: JaCoby Stevens Ultimate HighlightsSee new LSU commitment in action as a junior.Les Miles and LSU picked up a commitment Monday that should help the Tigers continue their tradition of producing stars in the defensive backfield.
After decommitting from LSU back in November, safety prospect
JaCoby Stevens of
Oakland (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) decided Baton Rouge was indeed the right place to continue his football career.
Stevens, a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder, is regarded as the No. 2 safety in the 2017 class by
247Sports and No. 27 prospect overall. He made the announcement during a public ceremony in Oakland High School's gymnasium.
LSU, which already has 19 verbal commitments from 2017 prospects, prevailed over Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia among others.
Stevens helped Oakland go 12-2 and reach the Division I Class 6A semifinals a year ago, tallying 84 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six interceptions and six pass deflections.
JaCoby Stevens should help LSU continue its trend of producing star defensive backs.
