Dejaunee Brooks, a 5-foot-8 junior point guard from
Cajon (San Bernardino, Calif.), is averaging an amazing triple double through 22 basketball games.
Coach Mark Lehman told MaxPreps that she is averaging 12.6 points, 10.9 assists and 10.4 rebounds while leading the Cowboys to a 19-3 record. Her high games are 23 points, 21 rebounds and 16 assists.
"She handles the ball really well," Lehman said. "She can dribble with both hands and is very good at penetrating to the basket, drawing two defenders. Defensively, she is awesome. That girl can stop anybody. She even guards centers. When she gets an outside shot, she's going to be dynamite."
According to statistics reported by coaches to MaxPreps, Brooks is the only player in the country averaging a triple double in points, rebounds and assists.
Lehman made news of his own last week as he collected the 600th win of his career with an 88-61 win over Pacific (San Bernardino) on Thursday. Lehman's Cajon squad overcame a hot shooting night by Janiqwa Robinson, who had 44 points with 12 3-pointers.
