After a couple of days of Super Bowl fever in Chicago, the Tour of Champions traveled north to Green Bay Packers territory to honor the Homestead Highlanders, in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Homestead has a rich tradition of athletic success, but the MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard sought to celebrate the achievements of the Highlander football team. Taking place at the halftime of the Boys varsity basketball game on January 26th, members of the football team took center stage sporting Tour of Champions T-shirts, given to the players by the Wisconsin Army National Guard. In front of the hometown crowd, Head Coach Dave Keel proudly accepted the MaxPreps Tour of Champions national rankings trophy. SSG Pete Lasage of the Wisonsin Army National Guard, presented the trophy to Coach Keel and MaxPreps representative Chris Brethel congratulated the team on their national ranking of #27 in the nation.
The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard would once again like to thank Coach Keel and the Highlanders for allowing us to come in and recognize Homestead. With all hopes, we will be honoring the team again next year!
