On Friday, Graham-Kapowsin won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Curtis 27-26. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Graham-Kapowsin's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 27 points in the first half. Curtis wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 24 to make it 27-24 heading into the break. Graham-Kapowsin almost let the game get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Graham-Kapowsin take on Rogers at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep their three-game winning streak alive. As for Curtis, they will face off against Puyallup. Curtis' defense better steel itself: Puyallup are averaging 43.86 points per game.
