SUDAN, Texas -
Sudan (Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as they threw a touchdown with 2:00 left, bringing the team to victory over
Hale Center (Texas) 28-26.
After nabbing the lead on a passing touchdown, the Owls went into halftime with a 26-14 lead. The Hornets took the lead to win the game on a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Sudan still trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped SHS pull out the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Hornets, who were coming off a 42-6 defeat at the hands of Ralls in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Hale Center, which notched a 36-15 victory over Smyer in its previous outing.
In a non-conference game next week Sudan (1-1) takes on Crosbyton, and Hale Center (1-1) will go up against Farwell also in a non-conference game.
