Haverford School and Germantown Academy take on one another this Saturday at 2:00 PM on Haverford School's home turf. Haverford School is limping into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
The state rankings speculated that Haverford School might be blown out two weeks ago, and the rankings were right on the money. It has to be hurting after a devastating 42 - 14 defeat at the hands of Imhotep Charter last game. The team got a solid performance out of junior Ben Gerber (he threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Gerber went long for a 55-yard TD catch in the second quarter, one of the game's most exciting plays.
As for Germantown Academy, its four-game winning streak came to an end two weeks ago. It wasn't able to scrape together any points last week, falling to West Catholic 14 - 0. Germantown Academy unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 40-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
After their losses, Germantown Academy dropped to 4-2 and Haverford School dropped to 1-4. We'll see which team manages to turn its luck around when they battle it out this week.
