Red Tornadoes Wreck Tuttle's District Dreams
ÿ
Clinton outlasted Tuttle in a clash between two defending state champions, 10-7. The 2005 Class 4A state champion led 10-7 at halftime and outlasted the defending 3A state champion at Tuttle's Bill Hinkle Stadium. Clinton wrapped up the District 3A-1 title with the victory.ÿ
ÿ
Tuttle's Zach Mincey had a tough night against a stingy Clinton defense, as the Red Tornadoes held him to 91 yards on 28 carries. Sophomore Antonio Huddlin also found it difficult to crack Tuttle's defense, gaining 70 yards on 14 carries.
ÿ
It was Clinton quarterback Baer Aneshansley that made the difference, hitting on 10 of 17 passes for 201 yards. Aneshansley's 35-yard first quarter touchdown pass to Torrance McBrayer gave Clinton a 7-0 lead.ÿ
ÿ
With the score tied at seven, Aneshansley spearheaded a 57-yard drive with time winding down in the second quarter. It resulted in a 26-yard field goal by Cameron Gladd with three seconds remaining in the first half, and eventually proved to be the game winner.

Union is Still Union
ÿ
In Oklahoma, an 0-3 start to any season is not cause for panic.
ÿ
Non-district games are essentially meaningless, as Union (Tulsa) is proving. Union's 0-3 start seems to be a distant memory after crushing Stillwater, 45-0. The Redskins locked up the District 6A-3 title with the victory over the Pioneers, who also are guaranteed a playoff berth. Stillwater must rebound against Broken Arrow this week if they are going to get a home playoff game as the second seed from the district.
ÿ
Union quarterback Brandon Rogers threw three touchdown passes to pace the Redskins in the victory.
ÿ
Unfortunately for Union, it appears having the top seed out of District 6A-3 will not give them a significant advantage. Muskogee will most likely receive the fourth seed out of District 6A-4. Muskogee defeated Union 21-7 Sept. 15.

Carl Albert (Midwest City) Defeats Guthrie
ÿ
If Carl Albert is the favorites to win their ninth Class 5A state championship, Guthrie is not far behind.
ÿ
Guthrie, who won the 5A crown in 2002, lost a heartbreaker to the Titans Friday, 26-21.
ÿ
Super-sophomore David Oku rushed for 167 yards to lead Carl Albert, whose only loss of the season was to Class 6A contender, Washington (Tulsa).
ÿ
Guthrie quarterback Kyle Staley rushed for 120 yards and threw for two touchdowns.ÿ Guthrie's defense had not allowed a point in four-consecutive games heading into the clash with Carl Albert.
ÿ
Wagoner 35, Grove 17
ÿ
Wagoner quarterback Durrell Parker had 261 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns in the victory. Grove held a 17-14 lead after a field-goal by T.J. Griffith with 5:14 left in the third quarter when Parker took over.ÿ
ÿ
Victory Christian (Tulsa) 34, Seminole 0
ÿ
Victory Christian quarterback Jacob Lewandowski threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the rout. Seminole only managed 85 yards of offense.
ÿ
Sequoyah (Claremore) 47, Locust Grove 0
ÿ
Sequoyah piled up 426 rushing yards in the victory, while holding Locust Grove's air show behind the arm of freshman quarterback Beau Marslan to 101 yards.
