Emerald (Greenwood, S.C.) took an early lead against Walhalla (S.C.) and held on for a 59-7 victory on Saturday.
The Vikings put up 17 points in the opening frame. Emerald scored on a field goal, a touchdown run and a rushing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, EHS was up 45-7 at the half.
The Greenwood school expanded its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. The Vikings' lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.
Walhalla's lone touchdown came on a 20-yard pass in the second quarter.
Emerald came in allowing an average of 24.2 points per game this season.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 57-7 win for EHS.
The loss was the third in a row for the Razorbacks.
Walhalla (1-5) will play a AAA Region I game against Palmetto next week, while Emerald (4-2) will take on Seneca also in a AAA Region I game.
