Southside were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They put a hurting on Highlands to the tune of 42-6. The success made it back-to-back wins for Southside.
Southside's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Highlands couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 35-0 heading into the break. The Southside defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The matchup pushed Highlands down to 0-2 and pulled Southside up to the reverse at 2-0.
Southside are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against San Antonio Memorial next week at 7:00 PM. Highlands will look to defend their home turf in two weeks against Jefferson at 7:00 PM.
