- Saturday brought a surprise upset in Florida where Dixie County (Cross City, Fla.)
triumphed over No. 107 Taylor County (Perry, Fla.)
After taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the second quarter, the Bears led 8-7 at the half.
Dixie County expanded its lead to seven points entering the fourth quarter. DC's lone score in the quarter came on a defensive touchdown.
Taylor County's only touchdown came on a 95-yard kick return in the first quarter.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Bulldogs took, 34-0.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Cross City school, which was coming off a 26-6 defeat at the hands of Fort White in its previous game.
