It was a battle of top-notch squads when Pittsburg (2nd in the power rankings) took on Serra (5th) last week. Pittsburg took its game by a score of 45 - 35. Pittsburg's offense might have been extra motivated to turn things around after difficulties scoring in its previous game.

After a challenging last week, Menlo-Atherton now finds itself down 11 power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It fought the good fight but suffered a stinging 26 - 20 defeat in overtime to Palma. The team got a solid performance out of senior Deston Hawkins (he earned two touchdowns and 116 yards rushing the ball); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Palo Alto this week as the team hoisted itself up ten places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It came out on top against McClymonds with a 29 - 20 win. One star in particular for Palo Alto was senior Jackson Chryst, who threw for 378 yards and three touchdowns.
