In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Things turned out as expected for West Allegheny last week -- mostly, at least. The team was expected to win big, but the final result was not so decisive. It came out on top in a nail-biter against Baldwin, sneaking past 29 - 26. One major factor in the win was the play of junior Kam Kruze, who earned one touchdown and 94 yards rushing the ball. Thanks to its success, West Allegheny cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Harrisburg and State College, 6th and 14th in the power rankings, respectively. Harrisburg strolled past State College with points to spare, taking the game 32 - 17. The win boosted Harrisburg a satisfying five spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Archbishop Wood (8th in the power rankings) and St. Joseph's Prep (1st). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Of course, Archbishop Wood and St. Joseph's Prep can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
