Marksville (3-4) takes on Jena (7-0) this Friday at 7:00 PM. Marksville has had difficulty moving the ball in its last six games, so hopefully it can find a way to get more yardage this week.
Victory was within reach last week, but Marksville ultimately lost 36 - 30 to Avoyelles. Freshman Javon Sampson didn't go down without a fight, though. He put up some defensive resistance with 16 tackles. Meanwhile, Jena claimed a 30 - 20 victory over Peabody last week.
The last time they met, Marksville walked away with a 44 - 36 win. It was able to move the ball a lot more (386 yards compared to 229 yards), a gap Jena will be looking to close this time around. Will Marksville come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
